SMS Consent & Opt-In Policy

Version 1.0 | Last Updated: April 13, 2026

Overview

EquineOps enables service providers — including trainers, farriers, equine dentists, and other equine care professionals — to send appointment and scheduling reminders to their clients via SMS. This page describes how consent is collected, what messages you may receive, and how to opt out.

How Consent is Collected

SMS consent is collected through an explicit double opt-in process:

  1. A business using the EquineOps platform initiates an opt-in invitation on your behalf.

  2. You receive an SMS message containing a confirmation link.

  3. Clicking that link records your explicit consent to receive SMS communications from that provider through the EquineOps platform.

You will not receive SMS messages until you have completed this confirmation step. Consent is recorded with a timestamp and associated with your account.

Types of Messages You May Receive

After opting in, you may receive the following types of SMS messages from the service provider who invited you:

  • Appointment reminders

  • Scheduling confirmations or changes

  • Follow-up notifications related to scheduled services

Message frequency varies based on your appointment schedule. EquineOps does not send marketing or promotional SMS messages.

Message & Data Rates

Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile carrier and plan.

How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS communications at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive. You will receive a single confirmation message and no further SMS messages will be sent.

To opt back in, contact the service provider directly or reply START.
